These drawings are blueprints for sculptures that would be impossible to make. Being primarily a sculptor, drawing lets me delve deeper into a fantasy universe. I sketch the forms intuitively, not knowing what the final result will be. Using the transparency of the vellum, I often retrace elements of other drawings, combining the parts into a whole.

I draw upon visual memories of objects, morphing the everyday objects that define American life (layered cakes, saran wrap, Ferris wheels, satellites, etc.) into eachother, and creating an organic architecture that expresses a tension between the human and the machine, the ornamental and the functional.
